Conference objectives and thematic areas
In an era of enormous economic and geopolitical restructuring and multiple, intersecting, mutually reinforcing or conflicting crises, Geography is called to reassess and resume its social role, scientific acumen and academic standing. This Conference strives to contribute towards these broader goals and advance the cause of contemporary Geography in 21st-century Greece. It is undertaken in the context of the celebration of 25 years of Greek Geography, initiated by the founding of the first academic department of Geography, at the University of the Aegean.
